Nope, ain't attempting to do anything that contravene the laws. Yet, half truths = not the truth.
Grey areas = loopholes for you to explore.
Question :: Will you market the noodles braised in beef broth as a vegetarian dish?
Possible replies from 2 diverse different schools of thoughts:
A :: Oh well, there isn't any meat in the dish, so yes, it is vegetarian. The customer won't know unless we tell him. What's the big deal?
B :: Oh, that is so unethical, what if the customer is allegeric to meat produce?
Alright, I'm not in the F&B business, just repackaging what i encountered yesterday in this example.. (oh well, protection.. protection..)
Being on the side of the fence of the rules enforcer, I certainly would think in the likes of B. However, currently on the side of fence in the real (operational) world, the one who ultimately endorse on the dotted line advocated A.
Oh yes, it is a grey area issue, and it's certainly not against the law. Just a matter of "more aggressive stand" vs "less aggressive stand". I think I belong to the latter.. ( Live and let live). Am i in the wrong line/ industry? Should i go back? Nah, i dislike redtapes. Have i been brain-washed into the rationale of the the enforcer role that funds collected are for the good of the nation? MAn.. I sound like I'm from some communist state.. the 人人为我, 我为人人.
What can the cook do? Cook what the boss want. Else, get another job. Actually, at the end of the day, the ultimate big boss is the same. Be it I'm on the left or right side of the fence. That's the interesting thing of working in a local mnc. If you don't get the idea, haha.. never mind.
