Excursion!

Went on an 'excursion' last sat- the finale event of my company's annual Finance Managers Conference. Felt like a tourist going on those land tour - perhaps that's how the overseas delegates felt.. 

Was an eye opener to view the plants, as well as the green initiatives of these two companies - which are part of the 'sustainable living' arm of the group.

Turning refuse into energy that operate the plant as well as supplying the excess to the energy market - cool!  

Smell was bearable and much better than the refuse collection area in our hdb estate!

Amazing fact is that the plant process like tonnes rubbish daily!! Make me think twice of generating wastage since we are running out of landfill sites!

Thereafter, we headed to the DCS plant @ Biopolis .. 

Didn't know that the biopolis plot's cooling needs was supplied by the environmentally friendlier means of cooling- cuz carbon footprint reduced.

The walkthru' of the processes made me sorta miss science lessons .. ( afterall, read science subjects in school until varsity days! ) perhaps life will be more interesting as an engineer? Lol. Beats cooped up in office all the time!
